Have Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I access my medical records?

There are a few different approaches you can take to obtain your medical records. You can log into your patient portal, call your doctor, or physically retrieve them from your medical facility. You can also pay our firm a one time fee to access the records on your behalf. Medical records are essential for cases pertaining to medical malpractice, personal injury, defective drugs / devices, etc.

Are my convictions eligible for expungement?

Felonies are generally eligible for expungement after five (5) years; not seven (7). You have to wait seven (7) years if you’re looking to have more than one felony set aside.
Misdemeanors are generally eligible for expungement after three (3) years unless deemed a “serious misdemeanor”, which then pushes the waiting period to five (5) years. Speak to one of our expungement attorneys today for more information.

Which types of cases are contingency based?

All injury related, product and consumer based cases, civil rights, mass tort, and most plaintiff cases we handle are contingency based. This means that the party at fault pays both of us when we win for you. For a detailed list of case types we handle refer to our practice areas webpage.

What is a mass tort?

A mass tort is a hybrid case that is neither a regular civil lawsuit or class action. A multi district litigation (mass tort) is a desired way to process cases that have been filed nationally on the same set of facts and legal theories in multiple courts. A panel of judges appointed by the US Supreme Court decide which cases are more efficiently handled as a mass tort.

Yes! The only exception is Sex Offender Registry removal consultations, which cost $100. This is due to excessive demand and the sensitive nature of said cases.

If my felony is expunged can I purchase a firearm?

Yes. However, the FBI can prevent a person from being eligible to purchase a firearm, even if specific past convictions, such as domestic violence, have been set aside. This is because when someone attempts to purchase a firearm, the seller – known as a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) – contacts the FBI. The prospective buyer fills out the required form, and the FFL sends that information to the FBI who then perform a background check on the buyer to verify eligibility.

How do I file a freedom of information act request?

Government documents can be requested from your local city, municipality or township office. Most government offices accept electronic submissions such as email or fax or through physical mail. Requests must be made in writing and the law allows a monetary charge for the work done in compiling the records. We suggest that you attempt to file a FOIA on your own before hiring us for any retrieval work. Reports containing body / dash cam footage and police reports are commonly used in civil rights and criminal defense claims.
