Imperial, A Villa Center

Imperial, a Villa Center is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. It provides skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, and other post-acute services. The facility is located at 26505 Powers Ave., Dearborn Heights, MI 48125.

What Happened?

Imperial was one of six Michigan nursing homes named in a $4.5 million settlement announced by the Michigan Attorney General in July 2025. The settlement involved allegations that the facilities accepted taxpayer funds while providing grossly substandard care. The facilities included Imperial, Ambassador, Father Murray, Regency, St. Joseph’s, and Westland.

The underlying whistleblower lawsuit alleged problems including inadequate staffing, failure to prevent and treat infections, failure to prevent falls, and inadequate toileting and personal care for residents. The settlement resolved the allegations; it was not a finding that every allegation was proven at trial.

Imperial has also received numerous federal nursing-home deficiencies. Recent inspection records include findings involving care planning, accident hazards, dialysis care, treatment according to physician orders, infection control, medication storage, pressure-ulcer care, and protection from abuse and neglect.
Of particular note, an October 23, 2025 complaint inspection cited Imperial for failing to ensure its nursing-home areas were free from accident hazards and adequately supervised residents to prevent accidents. The deficiency was classified as immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety.
